A written warranty can be useful, but it is not the same as a promise that an implant can never fail. The real value lies in clear terms, traceable components and a practical aftercare plan.
What does a dental implant warranty mean?
A warranty is a contractual commitment defined by its wording. It should identify the patient, clinic, treatment date, product or restoration, coverage period, exclusions and the remedy offered if the stated conditions are met. It does not replace clinical diagnosis, informed consent or the patient’s responsibility for oral hygiene and reviews.
“Guaranteed implant” can refer to several very different things: the implant manufacturer’s product warranty, the clinic’s workmanship policy, or a limited replacement arrangement.
